The role of education in pulmonary rehabilitation

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Pulmonary rehabilitation programs, with education as an integral part, have been shown to be effective in reducing hospitalization, improving quality of life, and increasing patients' knowledge and skills. With the evidence we have we recommend that patient education be a reimbursable item as are other components of comprehensive rehabilitation programs, and that further research into effective methods be promoted.
