Abstract

This study presents an unusual recurrent case of pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) around a ceramic-on-metal (COM) hip retrieved at 9-years. PVNS literature relates to metal-polyethylene and ceramic-ceramic bearings. Amstutz reported 2 cases with MOM resurfacing and Xiaomei reported PVNS recurring at 14 years with metal-on-polyethylene THA.
