Abstract
A practical and inexpensive polarographic method of monitoring venous oxygen tension under clinical conditions is described. Results to date indicate that the technique when employed under the proper conditions and especially in the poor-risk patient provides significant information regarding the condition of the anesthetized patient, information not presently available by other means.
