Abstract

The integration of surgical and prosthodontic knowledge has become a fundamental principle for implant treatment. Not only is it vital for treatment planning and execution, it is also critical in adverse situations. Nevertheless, although certain compromised situations can be successfully controlled, they are not desired. To avoid such instances, not only scrupulous clinical skill is demanded but also careful diagnosis and treatment planning and good communication between the surgeon and the restorative dentist.
